Scope of service

These reports are for investment, partnership and counterparty decisions. They are not consumer reports and must not be used to make decisions about employment, tenancy, credit or insurance. Employment screening is handled separately through an accredited partner. Canadian engagements are conducted in line with PIPEDA and applicable provincial privacy law.

Questions

What investors ask first

Is this a background check?

Not in the regulated sense. Vetting a company and its founders for an investment decision is due diligence, not a consumer report. We don't provide FCRA employment screening.

How long does a report take?

It depends on depth and the jurisdictions involved; we confirm the timeline at scoping.

Do you investigate people or companies?

Both, in the context of a deal — the company and the principals behind it.

What sources do you use?

Public records, corporate filings, litigation databases, licensed data and adverse-media sources. Lawful sources only — we don't obtain financial data by pretext or touch stolen data.
